WHO WE ARE
Our Story
Half a century of dough, dedication, and a deep love for the communities we serve - told through two generations of one Indiana family.
In 1975, Sally and Donny Barnes opened the doors of Pizza King in Greensburg, Indiana, with something most restaurant owners spend their whole careers chasing: a recipe worth protecting and a community worth serving.

Donny and Sally weren't building a brand; they were building a gathering place. A spot where families came on Friday nights, where little league teams celebrated wins, and where the smell of fresh-baked crust meant the week was finally over.

The provolone was chosen deliberately over mozzarella - richer, creamier, more distinctive. The square cut wasn't a quirk; it was a considered choice for easier sharing. And the crust? That recipe has stayed close to the family ever since.

What Sally and Donny understood from the beginning was that a locally owned restaurant isn't just about food. It's about showing up, year after year, knowing your neighbors by name, and refusing to cut corners when the community is counting on you.
"We're not a chain. We're yours. Every pizza we make carries fifty years of that promise."
- THE BARNES FAMILY
1975
Greensburg location opens. Sally and Donny Barnes serve their first pizza to the Greensburg community.
THE EARLY YEARS
Pizza King becomes a Greensburg institution - the go-to spot for families, celebrations, and everyday weeknight dinners.
SECOND GENERATION
Scott Barnes and Lisa Barnes Sizemore take the reins, carrying their parents' legacy forward with the same commitment to quality.
BATESVILLE
The crown expands. A second location opens in Batesville, bringing the Barnes family's pizza and philosophy to a new community.
TODAY
Both locations thrive under second-generation ownership. The crust recipe hasn't changed. Neither has the commitment.

The promise hasn't changed.
It never will.
From the day Sally and Donny Barnes fired up their first oven in Greensburg to the packed tables at both locations today, one thing has remained constant: Pizza King is locally owned, community-driven, and uncompromising on quality. No shortcuts. No chains. No strangers behind the counter.
Just family ....serving yours.
